Software for children ages 1 and up"? Can a one year old really play Clicktoy?
Yes! We took a 101-button keyboard and made every key do something different. The mouse is only used for menu navigation by the parent to launch the game.
After that your child is free to PRESS ANY KEY. And with our "ClickSafe" technology, your child can't accidentally exit the program or return to the desktop
and potentially adversly affect your computer.

How simple is Clicktoy to use? How does it work?
Clicktoy was designed to be as simple as a button press. Press any key and something will happen: an animal will jump, a bird will sing, or the rain will pour.
The Clicktoy keyboard has five features:
- The ESC key to exit the Meadow (when ClickSafe is enabled, the ESC key must be held for 3 seconds until the exit popup appears).
- The Function keys to affect the environment (change the time of day, make it rain, blow leaves, etc).
- The Letters & Numbers keys to trigger the Meadow's inhabitants into animated action.
- The "System" keys to trigger a variety of animal sound effects ("System" keys refers to the arrows, insert, delete, home, pgup, pgdown, etc).
- The Keypad keys which represent a single chromatic scaled musical instrument as well as a few percussion instrument sounds.
The desire is to let your child explore and see how their actions affect their environment.
And The Meadow - IS your child's world. Filled with loveable animals, your child will be able to get up close and watch them frolic and play.

What does "ClickSafe" mean?
"ClickSafe" is a setting found in the Options menu. When turned ON, all keyboard key combinations that normally would either exit the program or task-switch back to the desktop are disabled. We even catch many of the additional keys found on modern keyboards.
One major exception is the CTRL-ALT-DEL key combination. Because it is considered the height of bad ettiquette to completely prevent a computer owner from exiting a program if they really want,
we opted NOT to trap that function. You or even your child, will be able to switch away to the task manager from Clicktoy via CTRL-ALT-DEL.
The game will still be running and you can return to it at any time by selecting it from the task list or from the task bar.
When "ClickSafe" is enabled, you must PRESS AND HOLD the ESC key for THREE seconds until the "Close Book" popup appears.
Normally you need only tap the ESC key to bring it up. Then you can use your mouse to exit to the main menu.
The "Close Book" popup will disappear automatically on its own after 15 seconds or if ESC is pressed again.

Is Clicktoy educational software?
Clickoy is an entertainment. If anything is learned it is because the parent or caregiver fully embraced the opportunity to describe, name and explain what things are and what they're doing.
A child simply experiences and explores Clicktoy worlds. We made our product as innocent and free-form as possible to give the older sibling or the adult the freedom to make up their own stories
and "teach" whatever they felt needed to be taught.

Depending on demand, maybe.

Is Clicktoy availabe in stores?
Clicktoy Interactive is trying to be a modern ECO-Friendly company. By primarily distributing our software via the internet,
we save plastic trees by not putting our software on CDs and real trees by not wrapping the CD in a colourful box. No warehouse, no trucks, no diesel. And you don't have to driver or bus to a store to pick up a copy.
The internet does require some electricity which could come from unclean sources but we beleive someone is working on that.
We aren't perfect however. You can order a backup CD via our ordering page and have it mailed to you. But it is only an option - not manditory.
You can also gift our software to a loved one's email address so they can enjoy Clicktoy.
We understand how nice it is to hold a box in your hands - we would love to hold a boxed version of the game we created, it's just so neat-o.
As a new company trying to be successful, we may consider putting our product onto retail shelves but we'd much rather have families make their purchase online. It just makes so much more sense. It helps justify the Internet's existence.
